Sri Shubha teaches you...

Sri Shubha, sister of Sri T.K. Sribhashyam

Sri Shubha comes from a lineage deeply rooted in the rich tradition of Yoga and Indian philosophy. Her father, recognized as the father of modern yoga, was a mathematician: a Sanskrit scholar, polyglot, Ayurvedic healer and profound philosopher. His mother, Namagiriammal, embodied strength and love, also excelling in yoga. Among his siblings, each embodied remarkable qualities: his older sister, the closest replica of his mother; his second sister, a mental power similar to his father; his older brother, inheriting vast knowledge, chose the life of an ascetic, devoting himself to academia and teaching ancient scriptures. World-renowned as premier yoga teachers, Sri Shubha's brothers, T.K.V. Desikachar and T.K. Sri Bhashyam (and their families), have been pillars of support, going above and beyond to help him with his own struggles. Particularly, T.K. Sribhashyam who encouraged him to teach more and reach out to students around the world, sharing what they had learned from their father. In her family, yoga was a way of life. Under the direct tutelage of her father until her late twenties, she demonstrated for him shortly after the birth of her son. Although separated by distance, their studies continued by correspondence. Both of his parents guided him in developing a program suitable for his second child, born with physical and cognitive challenges. Over the past 50 years, through these experiences and her own explorations, she has found purpose in sharing her learning and helping people overcome their challenges using yoga.
